Tourism: BI – centre for experience economy (?)
other potential partners in this field:

Working with a client/ partner have its advantages as well as disadvantages, all depending on the individual, the project and expectations.
Social Mechanisms: Thackara: Design of the Time – DOTT
Doors of Perception/ of the East
Dunne and Raby: new book
Taxes, social security
Service design: create future scenarios, making it trustworthy to suspend disbelief. One could just focus on the AT-ONE method (service generating creative method; Actors, Touch points, Offerings, Needs and Emotions) or even just one of the letters, for example need. Investigate preparatory work, the actual workshop and the handling of the resulting material.
Use design to visualise and tell a story.
live|work s work with Fiat Multipla
Fiat commissioned live|work and Interaction Design Institute Ivrea to help understand how they might design the next generation Fiat Multipla to build on these characteristics:
a ‘democratic’ car – accessible, user friendly and designed from the ‘inside out’.
Critical design: Look at projects from the RCA as long traditions for that there. (He has spoken to other tutors here at AHO about introducing the concept of critical design in the course, but it might be the design culture/ industry in Norway isn’t ready for it yet.)
The hardest and most important element in ‘critical design’ is the story, finding and identifying the soft spots/ weak points..
Generally for the diploma project; pin down the motivation factors, what drives you. It could be a job for example. Put yourself in focus, you’re only doing this for yourself.
Exercise: take any (hard core commercial) product and turn it into a service, i.e. Farris or Sørlandschips. An example is how the walkman evolved into the iPod.
